Scrip is a program where parents purchase gift cards from the Band in advance that can be used like cash. Scrip can be purchased from a whole list of stores/service providers through the Scrip company that we use (Groceries, Gas, Starbucks, Borders, you name it), but to simplify the program at this time we are only purchasing Albertsons gift cards. A percentage of the cost for these cards is rebated back to the student's Individual Student Account (ISA). We have simplified this program, so now we are looking for a coordinator to collect money one morning a week, distribute gift cards and document which ISA earned the credit.

What's the upside? Parents already spend money at Albertsons for groceries anyway. The cost of the gift card is the exactly the amount available on the card to purchase groceries, so there is no "convenience fee." AND, the student's ISA account gets credited four (4) percent of the total cost of the card. Such a deal!
